Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Each year, around 3,600 Queensland men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, making it the most commonly occuring cancer in Queensland men.

Each September, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month gives Queenslanders the opportunity to better understand prostate cancer and become better informed of the benefits and risks of screening.

With one in five men in the state diagnosed with prostate cancer before age 85, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month is a timely reminder for Queenslanders to review their lifestyles and cut their cancer risk.

Cancer Council Queensland is currently involved in Australia's first large-scale study to follow men with prostate cancer for five years from their diagnosis. Click here to read more on the findings of this research and how you can cut your cancer risk.
