The Movember Foundation (ABN 48 894 537 905) is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation which runs the men’s health initiative, Movember. Each year, it is responsible for the appearance of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces across the globe, with the aim of raising vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

Movember is a month where “Mo Bros” put down their razors and grow a Mo. Through their moustache, each “Mo Bro”, supported by their “Mo Sistas”, generates money via donations and conversation around the subject of men’s health.

The organisation has a goal to change the attitudes men hold towards their health. The moustache is the symbol by which it generates the necessary awareness and funds in order to be able to achieve this ambition.
It is a simple and effective way to reach the number one objective – awareness – as during Movember, each “Mo Bro” effectively becomes a walking billboard promoting men’s health.

Movember is now six years old and to date, has raised AUD$62 million globally for the fight against prostate cancer and depression in men. It has grown from an idea which was supported by 30 Mo Bros in its first official year to one which received 173,171 registrants in 2008.

Today, Movember takes place in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada and Ireland. In addition to these countries we are aware of supportive “Mo Bros & Sistas” dotted all over the world; from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Amsterdam and everywhere in between. As a direct result of these campaigns, male awareness of health issues has improved with the campaign spreading health messages directly to thousands around the world.

Going forward, Movember will continue to work toward helping change established habits and attitudes and make men aware of the health risks they face, thereby increasing early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.

Thankyou, your support was very much appreciated.
