Ellerfield welcomed a special guest to its Brisbane office last week,
Australian investment great, Kerr Neilson.
Kerr is the owner and co-founder of Platinum Asset Management. The Ellerfield team has strongly advocated the Platinum International and Asia fund since inception.
Meeting with our adviser’s in Brisbane, Kerr spoke about the current state of world markets. He has extensive knowledge on international macro economics and information on local and foreign companies. The tools and updates our adviser’s received were invaluable, especially when coming from the 8th richest man in Australia. The investment philosophy, however, remains the same. Platinum sets long term targets, as does Ellerfield.
Kerr did not delve into the effect of the Australian Dollar on the prices of international shares. Rather he spoke of the constant stream of local investment in China and certain other Asian countries. Kerr doesn’t see any drastic changes in the next 12 months; after all, the investment policy is one for the long term!
